Our own personnel and equipment

Compañía Técnica has been inspecting hydrocarbon storage and transport assets since 2004, with its own personnel and equipment: we do not outsource field work or rent instruments. It is listed as an auditing entity in the Register of the Secretariat of Energy, which lets it audit directly, and its personnel are certified to IRAM-ISO 9712 for non-destructive testing.

That dual scope defines two lines of work with different audiences: the audits that Argentine regulations require for hydrocarbon facilities, and the non-destructive testing that measures and assesses an asset's integrity without taking it out of service.

How we work and to which standards

We also work for international operators, applying the standards that govern each asset: API for hydrocarbon tanks and piping, ASME for pressure vessels. Instruments travel calibrated and verified to anywhere in the country, and every job ends in a report with the measurements, the photographic record and the signature of the technical lead.

Highly Qualified Personnel

Our team is certified under the international standards that govern both non-destructive testing and audits, with our own personnel and equipment.

Frequently asked questions

What does it mean that Compañía Técnica is an auditor approved by the Secretariat of Energy?

It means the company is listed in the Register of Auditing Entities of Argentina’s Energy Secretariat under Resolution 414/2021. Only companies in that register may issue the audit reports the authority accepts for service stations and hydrocarbon storage facilities.

Which categories is the company authorised for?

Categories A-I, A-II, B-I and B-II, covering both surface safety audits and testing of storage systems. We do not act as intermediaries: we run the test and sign the report with our own registered technical representatives.

What is non-destructive testing and when should it be used?

It is an inspection that assesses the integrity of a component without damaging it or taking it out of service: ultrasonics, phased array, penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing. It should be applied before a failure shows up, during the periodic inspections required by regulation, and after any structural repair.

How often does a storage tank need to be inspected?

The interval is set by API 653 from the measured corrosion rate and remaining thickness of each tank, not by a fixed date that is the same for everyone. Resolution 277/2025 additionally introduced its own compliance deadlines for hydrocarbon tanks in Argentina.

Which areas of the country do you cover?

The whole of Argentina. Our base is in Pilar, Buenos Aires Province, and the equipment is our own and fully transportable, so we deploy crews to plants, service stations or the client’s site without depending on rented gear.

What is delivered at the end of an inspection?

A technical report signed by a registered technical representative, covering the methodology applied, the measurements obtained, the photographic record and the conclusions. It is the document that serves as evidence before the authority and for the asset’s file.
